NMMU Business School’s collaborating with the Ecosystem Return Foundation

Thekla Teunis of the Ecosystem Return Foundation recently gave a presentation about the Living Lands Project undertaken in the Baviaanskloof and Kouga area in the Eastern Cape. The aim of the Living Lands Project is to accelerate ecological restoration based on partnerships created between local stakeholders, expert professionals, business parties and investors. Read more

MD of Eveready addresses students

Second-year MBA part-time students were privileged to recently welcome Mr Avijit Das, Managing Director of Eveready, to its Leadership class. Mr Das has an Engineering qualification and has held senior executive roles as Consult for AT Kearney – where he consulted across the globe in the management of change; after which he joined Duracell and Gillette also in senior executive positions. 2014 Financial Mail Survey on South African MBA Programmes

Annually, the Financial Mail interviews South Africa’s Business Schools and MBA Programme Directors regarding critical issues affecting higher education and specifically the MBA degree. They further conduct a survey that’s disseminated to graduates of an MBA program in South Africa. Read more

Graduate School celebrates a year of success

NMMU Business School’s Graduate School hosted it annual MBA Gala Dinner on Friday, 29 August to celebrate another successful year of student, alumni and staff achievements. The prestigious event was attended by NMMU Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences and Business School faculty, existing PDBA and MBA student body, and alumni and industry stakeholders. Hostess, Dr Margie Cullen, a Senior Lecturer at the NMMU Business School, emphasised the celebration of excellence and acknowledging the outstanding work of students, alumni and staff. Read more

An Extraordinary Journey: Umzi Wethu Training Academy for Vulnerable Youth

Port Elizabeth, 21 August 2014 - The incredible story of the Umzi Wethu Training Academy for Vulnerable Youth is the subject of an OXFAM case study, which was launched in Port Elizabeth last night. Umzi Wethu, which means “our home” in isi-Xhosa, is an initiative of the internationally-renowned Wilderness Foundation. It is the brainchild of its Director, Dr Andrew Muir, who is an active member of the NMMU Business School’s Advisory Board. Read more

These included rapidly accelerating globalisation and the demographic ageing, slow growth, market saturation and rising levels of sovereign debt in traditional high-income countries. Integrated African Leadership (IAL) elective module changes paradigms

Port Elizabeth, 20 May 2014 - The NMMU Business School delivered another successful instalment of the popular Integrated African Leadership (IAL) elective module from the 13th to the 16th of May 2014.
