NMMU BUSINESS SCHOOL ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC CONVERSATIONS ON NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN WITH PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER

NMMU Business School this week announced it will examine the most recent developments surrounding the long term vision and strategic National Development Plan of South Africa through its Strategic Conversations platform.

The event will take place on 31 July in Port Elizabeth and National Planning Commission member Dr Bridgette Gasa has been secured as keynote speaker.

Dr Gasa will unpack and discuss key responses from the public, business and communities gathered by the  National Planning Commission following the release of the plan last year and reveals important insights obtained for the National Development Plan

“Following engagement with the public to understand and hear suggestions in response to the draft National Development Plan, the National Planning Commission is finalizing South Africa’s strategic development blue-print that will be presented to parliament and the presidency this August,” she said.

NMMU Business School’s Professor Paul Poisat said the conversation will aim to uncover how the National Development Plan will affect South Africa.  “In addition we hope to empower leaders, individuals and business owners with key insights for business, economic, social, community and organisational development by creating a platform on how the National Development Plan will create hope, clearer vision and a better future”.
