NMMU Business School And Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Cooperative Development Centre (CDC) Hosts First Information Session

18 March 2011 - The NMMU Business School– the implementing agent for the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s cooperative development project - hosted its first information session today.

The purpose of the event was to inform stakeholders in SMME and cooperatives of the services offered by the special unit, the Cooperative Development Centre (CDC), housed at NMMU’s Missionvale Campus.

These include: tender advice, feasibility and viability studies, information and referrals, networking, capacity building, job creation, business training and workshops. 

The event, held at the Missionvale Campus, attracted around 125 cooperatives in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Other stakeholders from industry - including The Department of Social Development, ABSA and the Eastern Cape Development Corporation - were also present. 

A second event is scheduled to take place in Uitenhage later this year with other future events of this nature planned.
